Conditions · Neck pain
Neck pain with symptoms into the shoulder, arm or hand.
A disc in the neck can press on a nerve the same way a disc in the low back does. Where the symptoms travel is one of the clues. Prime Spine offers non-surgical decompression for the neck as well as the low back.
What it can feel like
Stiffness and ache in the neck, pain between the shoulder blades, tingling, numbness or weakness into the arm or fingers.
How Dr. Lee assesses it
How your neck moves, nerve testing in the arms, and a look at any neck MRI or X-rays you have.
Where non-surgical decompression fits
A disc problem in the neck, seen on your MRI, with symptoms into the arm that have not settled with the usual care.

Questions
Questions about low back pain
Why does it matter which fingers tingle?
Each nerve in the neck supplies a different part of the arm and hand. Whether the thumb, the middle fingers or the little finger is affected helps show where in the neck the nerve is pinched.
What is cervical decompression?
It is non-surgical spinal decompression for the neck. You lie on the padded table while it applies a gentle, computer-controlled pull to the neck, on and off, to take pressure off the disc.
Is neck pain from looking at a screen a disc problem?
Often it is muscle strain from posture, and it settles with movement and rest. Neck pain that keeps coming back, or that travels into the arm, is more likely to involve a disc or nerve and is worth an evaluation.
Do I need a neck MRI?
It helps, because an MRI shows the discs and the nerves. If you do not have one, Dr. Lee can refer you for imaging after she examines you.
